Rove Launches Transfer Partnership With Japan Airlines Mileage Bank

We’ve had phenomenal growth since our launch last year, from debuting Loyalty Eligible hotel bookings to giving hundreds of thousands of people the opportunity to earn transferable rewards without needing a credit card.
Today marks another milestone in Rove’s journey with the announcement of our newest transfer partner: Japan Airlines. Let’s talk about what this means for you.
Rove Partners with Japan Airlines
Japan Airlines (JAL) is Japan’s flag carrier, with a broad route network and a presence at nine different U.S. airports. It’s also a member of airline alliance Oneworld, whose 15 members include favorites such as American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Qatar Airways. Combined with a series of individual airline partnerships, JAL has access to flights around the world.
Rove Miles normally transfer over to JAL Mileage Bank at a 1:1 ratio, matching the rate at which Rove transfers to other airline partners. To celebrate the launch, we’ll be running a 50% transfer bonus until March 31, 2026, where every 1,000 Rove Miles you transfer become 1,500 JAL miles.
This new partnership brings Rove’s total number of transfer partners to 14, including:
- Aeromexico Rewards
- ALL Accor
- Cathay
- Etihad Guest
- Finnair Plus
- Air France-KLM Flying Blue
- Hainan Airlines Fortune Wings Club
- Air India Maharaja Club
- JAL Mileage Bank
- Miles & More
- Qatar Airways Privilege Club
- Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus
- Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles
- Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles
Is It Worth It?
Japan Airlines has one of the best award programs available, with supremely generous redemption rates for flights. Notably, you can fly from the U.S. to Japan for as few as 27,000 miles in economy class or 55,000 miles in business class. JAL utilizes dynamic pricing, meaning the required mileage may vary based on demand.

Many major programs will charge a premium for trans-pacific flights taking off from the East Coast, since the distance adds a significant amount of flight time. JAL does not.
You can also use JAL miles to book flights with its myriad partners, including Emirates, British Airways, and Air France. For example, you can use JAL’s partner award chart to book business class from the East Coast to Europe for under 50,000 miles. That’s leagues ahead of competitors, whose best rates can still be as high as 88,000 miles for a one-way flight.
The Bottom Line
JAL Mileage Bank is Rove’s newest transfer partner, joining an enviable cast of hotel and airline partners. With this partnership, Rove continues to expand and offer unique, valuable features to help its members travel better.
