How to use Rove Miles for Loyalty Eligible Stays

Booking hotels has long been a tradeoff between picking the best price and or enjoying the benefits of booking directly, which is why Rove has launched its Loyalty Eligible feature. Groundbreaking? Yes.

Available on thousands of hotels around the world, Loyalty Eligible lets you earn Rove Miles AND hotel points on your stays. Let’s check out how it works.

What is Rove Loyalty Eligible?

Put simply, Loyalty Eligible is a program that allows you to book your hotel on Rove, earn Rove Miles, and still enjoy all the benefits of booking directly with a hotel.

This isn’t common; hotels use restrictions on earning points and elite status perks to encourage guests to use their platforms for hotel stays.

Of course, by doing so, guests often have to make a sacrifice, either by paying more than they would elsewhere or by missing out on the ability to earn more rewards.

We’re proud to say that those days are over. You’ve already been able to earn up to 25x Rove Miles on hotel purchases, but now you have another choice: Opt for a preferred Rove Rate or take advantage of Loyalty Eligible booking.

And unlike other programs, we aren’t limiting Loyalty Eligible to luxury properties. You’ll find all kinds of hotels available on our platform, including those from many familiar chains:

• Marriott.
• Hyatt.
• Hilton.
• Best Western.
• Accor.
• Choice.
• IHG.
• Wyndham.

How to book Loyalty Eligible stays

Finding and booking a Loyalty Eligible hotel stay with Rove is easy. First, you’ll want to log in to your Rove account.

Once logged in, navigate to the Hotels section from the toolbar up top.

Type in where you’d like to go, as well as your dates of stay, then hit the search button.

You’ll then get your search results. To filter out properties to only ones that are Loyalty Eligible, switch on the toggle on the left-hand side.

You’ll then see just properties that include hotel loyalty program benefits. Loyalty Eligible bookings earn a flat 5x Rove Miles per $1 spent.

Once you find a hotel that you like, click on it to see how much it’ll cost you when either paying cash or redeeming Rove Miles.

Even if you choose to redeem Rove Miles, these are considered cash bookings by the hotel, so you’ll still be able to earn hotel points on these stays.

During checkout, you’ll be prompted to enter your loyalty program number. In this case, you’ll want to put in your Marriott Bonvoy number. If you don't see the requirement to enter your loyalty program number, this means you are not booking a Loyalty Eligible stay.

Here's a look at the checkout screen when you're booking a Rove Rate room for a property:

As you can see, there is a notification that you won't be earning Marriott Bonvoy benefits for this stay. You also aren't required to enter your loyalty number.

In contrast, here's the checkout screen when you're booking a Loyalty Eligible room:

You can see that entering your Marriott Bonvoy number is required. We show you a total indicating that you're earning Marriott points in addition to Rove Miles for your booking. The earning multipliers are also different since a Loyalty Eligible booking only earn 5x Rove Miles per $1 spent.

Once you’ve booked your hotel stay through Rove, your reservation will be immediately synced and you’ll be able to see it in your preferred hotel chain’s app.

Benefits of Booking Loyalty Eligible

If you’re not super familiar with hotel loyalty programs, you may be asking “what’s the big deal with Loyalty Eligible?”

We’ve already told you that you’ll earn more rewards through Rove than you will booking anywhere else, but let’s break it down:

• 5x Rove Miles per $1 spent on hotels.
• The hotel points you earn with your chosen program.
• The points you earn with your travel credit card.

Plus, Loyalty Eligible hotel bookings are charged directly by the hotel, not Rove, which means you'll be able to stack the miles you're earning with great rates on co-branded hotel credit cards.
